About us

McAuley Community Services for Women provides much needed services for women and their children who are escaping family violence, and for women who are homeless.

McAuley was created in 2008, when the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea joined two of its long-running services – McAuley House (formerly Regina Coeli) and McAuley Care (formerly Mercy Care).

Today, we offer three programs for women and their children to help them rebuild their lives:

  • McAuley House provides welcoming accommodation for women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and supports them on their journey towards independence.
  • McAuley Care provides 24-hour crisis accommodation as well as refuges for women and their children escaping family violence.
  • Engage to Change  is a ground-breaking social enterprise to educate employers and staff about family violence, its impact on business and what can be done to support women experiencing violence.
McAuley Community Services for Women is a public benevolent institution and is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient (Item 1) with charity tax concessions (TCC). ABN 85696671223
