Get Ready to Work

 McAuley Works is starting Get Ready to Work program, a one-off session for up to five people looking for work.

The two-hour session includes helping participants to create a professional selling point resume, referral for interview, clothing and presentation and industry advice and suggestions. The workshop can be tailored for young people still at school, men and women.

Staff look at what a job seeker needs to be ready for work and provides practical, accurate advice that can be put into action immediately.

Qualified trainers run each session at locations across Melbourne.
The cost is $800 and includes take-away materials.

The Get Ready To Work program is an additional service provided by the highly successful McAuley Works arm of McAuley. McAuley Works is an intensive employment program that assists women affected by homelessness, primarily as a result of family violence or mental health breakdown. Workers support women to secure meaningful employment and increase their ability to support themselves financially.

Between 2010 and mid 2013, 201 women have been referred to McAuley Works from a range of Victorian homeless, family violence and mental health services. Around 134 women have found employment through McAuley Works, which offers intensive pre-employment skills such as those covered in the Get Ready to Work program.
