Minister Applaudes Fed Up Lunch

Georgie Crozier, Shadow Minister for Families and Children, voiced her delight in Victorian Parliament recently about the successful Fed Up Lunch.

She told Parliament she was pleased to have attended the lunch which had been put together by a group of men who wanted to raise awareness amongst men of his age about the need to stop other men from being violent.

“It was a terrific event that not only created further awareness of the issue of family violence within our community but also raised funds for McAuley Community Services for Women,” said Ms Crozier.

She, along with other MPs, attended the Fed Up lunch and have since talked publicly about the event and the involvement of men in supporting McAuley Community Services for Women.

“With attention in recent days being focused on the Royal Commission into Family Violence, it is organisations such as McAuley that provide the practical programs for women and children who may be subject to family violence today,” she said.

“I congratulate Joce Bignold and her team at McAuley on the ongoing work they are doing in providing support and assistance to the many women and children affected by family violence.”
