McAuley Community Services for Women is proud of its heritage. Started by the Sisters of Mercy almost 30 years ago, the work of foundress, Catherine McAuley, continues today through a range of specialist services.
We welcome the support of many Catholic parish communities throughout Victoria and we welcome the opportunity to work with you and to share the message of compassion, hospitality and social justice with your parish.
We have worked with parish social justice groups, liturgy groups, spirituality and reading groups. We can attend meetings and Masses if you would like a McAuley Community Services for Women, staff member to speak. Here are just some of the ways your parish could support our organisation:
- Hold a special collection at the Sunday Mass nearest September 24, which is the feast of Our Lady of Mercy and the anniversary of the
opening of the first House of Mercy in 1827 by Catherine McAuley.
Invite a speaker from McAuley Community Services for Women to address your parish at the conclusion of, or during Mass.
- Hold a High Tea in the month of May or June as part of our appeal.
- Read our Great Ways to Give booklet for more fundraising ideas.
We have an enthusiastic team that works with parishes and church groups. Please call us on 9371 6600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how you can get involved.
