The Special Events Committee
McAuley Community Services for Women is indebted to the work of the dedicated people who make up the Special Events Committee. The extraordinary Special Events Committee and their fabulous corporate contacts is a unique network which exemplifies the richness achieved through partnership committed to working for a better, safer and just society.
The Special Events Committee was established in 2004 to support the work of McAuley Care crisis accommodation program and provide significant financial support.
The Special Events Committee are all volunteers who work tirelessly to source donations and sponsorship to support the work of McAuley Care and other McAuley Community Services for Women programs.
• Funds raised by the Special Events Committee greatly supported the establishment of the children’s play room, including furniture and toys, at McAuley Care. • Recently the funds raised by the Special Events Committee supported the expansion of service at McAuley Care to be opened 7 days a week from 2009.
• The Committee has a particular commitment to family violence prevention and awareness programs.
• The Special Events Committee holds an exclusive private cocktail party each year and in the 2009/10 financial year raised over $150,000.
