Q & A Panel on Family Violence

November 2015

Outcomes and recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence were discussed at a recent Q & A in Melbourne, moderated by Jocelyn Bignold, CEO of McAuley Community Services for Women.

The Q & A event, put on by Victorian Women Lawyers and hosted by Logie-Smith Lanyon Lawyers, was attended by 80 people, who heard panellists, including Australian of the Year Rosie Batty speak. Other panellists included Rob Hulls, former Attorney General of Victoria, Kaye Swanton, deputy chairperson of Violence Free Families and Luke Ablett, former footballer and now enrolled in a Masters of Gender and Development at Australian National University.

Panellists discussed possible reforms in the family violence space and shared their thoughts on the outcomes of the Royal Commission.

In 2015, the Victorian Women Lawyer’s Justice Committee has focussed on family and have run a series of events.
