Scones for High Tea Appeal

Thank you to the Country Women's Association for generously allowing McAuley Community Services for Women to use its famous scone recipe during our High Tea Appeal.

4 cups self raising flour
300ml milk
Pinch salt
300ml cream
1 tsp caster sugar

In a large mixing bowl. Add cream and milk to the dry ingredients and mix to a soft dough.

Place on a lightly floured board and pat it out to a thickness of about 2.5cm.

Cut in rounds with a scone cutter, and place on a lightly floured baking tray.
Bake in hot oven (200 C) for 12-15 minutes.

Once removed from oven, brush with melted butter to give a nice gloss.
Serve with butter or jam and cream!
