Thank You To Our Volunteers

McAuley Community Services for Women is constantly thankful for the extraordinary support that it receives from volunteers, donors and the increasing number of people who hear about us for the first time and want to help in many different ways.

There is no doubt that we simply could not achieve what we do without the power of our volunteers. Last year, Our Community estimated the hourly contribution of volunteers to be $31.50. Our rough estimation of what the volunteer contribution is to McAuley Community Services for Women is in excess of $64,000 annually.

This past month, we recognised the power of our volunteers and their enormous contribution to our work with a series of individual profiles. We have 40 volunteers working alongside us including our TwentyFour/7 special events committee and the Fed Up team who, throughout the year, come up with new ideas to support our work. On June 13, for instance, TwentyFour/7 Cocktail Party committee member Jodie Holckner has gathered the troops for a BBQ sausage sizzle to raise funds for our family violence program at the opening of the Bunnings Collingwood store in Victoria Parade.

We have volunteers working in our programs, pampering women at McAuley House, playing with children at McAuley Care and supporting our staff in untold ways.

Our Board members are all volunteers, giving their time and skills to ensure that our specialist, vital work reaches the right people at the right time and in the right way.

This year, too, we have volunteers who have put up their hands to host high teas in their workplaces or in their own homes. Every thing counts as we work towards ending family violence and homelessness. We thank you all.
